For IT administrators: how to allow Tasku

For your school’s Google Workspace for Education administrators.

Why this is needed

If your school restricts third-party apps, teachers see one of these messages when signing in to Tasku:

Google blocks unconfigured apps by default for users under 18, and many schools do the same for staff. Tasku is meant to be used by teachers only.

Steps (5 minutes)

  1. Sign in to the Google Admin console with an administrator account.
  2. Go to Security → Access and data control → API controls.
  3. Under Third-party app access, click Manage Third-Party App Access.
  4. Click Configure new app and search for it by the client ID below. It should appear as Tasku.
  5. Choose who it applies to: the whole school or, better, just the teachers’ organizational unit or group.
  6. Under Access to Google Data, choose Trusted and save.

The change usually takes a few minutes (sometimes up to an hour). Then the teacher signs in again with “Sign in with Google” in Tasku.
